Doctor

Kevin E Hawthorne, D.V.M.

Raised in Oklahoma, Dr. Kevin knew he wanted to practice veterinary medicine since childhood. He attended Oklahoma State University for both undergraduate and graduate school, receiving his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1986.

Dr. Kevin practiced in Starke, Florida until 1989. In October, 1989, the Hawthornes purchased Lake City Animal Hospital and by 1996, they had grown the once small practice into a state of the art, progressive facility. It was a fun project, Dr. Kevin designed the building and Dr. Tracy designed the decor. Dr. Kevin has a strong interest and skill in orthopedic and soft tissue surgery.

Tracy Hawthorne, D.V.M.

Dr. Tracy calls the world home. She was raised in an Air Force family and has lived in Texas, Alabama, Hawaii, California, Virginia, New Mexico, Montana, Germany and Colorado. After many years of constant change, she enjoys creating a permanent home for her family and lasting friendships.
Dr. Tracy received her undergraduate degree from Montana State University and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 1985. She was chosen to do post-doctoral work at Oklahoma State University (where she and Dr. Kevin met) and did a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Florida. Internal medicine, client education and behavioral counseling are Dr. Tracy's areas of expertise.

Susan Williams, D.V.M.

Dr. Susan Williams is a 1988 graduate of the University of Florida and has lived in Lake City since 1988. She is married with three grown children, five wonderful grandchildren and has nine dogs, one cat, 2 birds, and fish! Her hobbies are hiking, reading and yoga.

I am a native to Lake City. I have a son, Cole, and a husband, Vince. I two dogs, cows and goats and a horse Poco. I enjoy working with cows and horses. I have always wanted a job that I enjoy that is also fun, interesting, and above all rewarding.

I have two children, Jesse, 15 and Del, 9 years. I have been working for Lake City Animal Hospital since September, 2000. I love my job here and I learn something new everyday. Our staff is a great group of people with which to work. I feel like I have a third family. This is my first job as a receptionist.

I have been with Lake City Animal Hospital since March, 2001. I was born in Homestead, Florida and moved to Branford when I was two years old. I now call Live Oak home. I currently attend Lake City Community College. I have a son named Slater, three dogs and two horses. My all time favorite hobby is Barrel Racing. In addition to the duties of technician, I also assist Dr. Kevin in surgery as his surgery technician which is very interesting and exciting. (pictured with Bailey).
