Happy Ending Story!

Lexi came to our hospital one year ago with extensive, severe burns on the back and sides of her body. Over this past year, Lexi endured many bandage changes and Dr. Kevin performed three surgeries to repair the damaged skin and tissue. This January, Dr. Kevin performed a final surgery to remove scar tissue that lacked hair follicles and resectioned her skin so she would have hair growth! Throughout her ordeal, Lexi has become a staff favorite at our hospital! She has an infectious personality and is a happy-go-lucky girl with plenty of spunk and energy! We love you, Lexi!

CATS GET HEARTWORMS TOO!
When it comes to heartworm disease, dogs and cats have alot in common. But new research shows that in cats there is the potential for more severe reactions and even sudden death. Indoor cats are at risk for heartworm disease, too. Mosquitoes transmit the disease by biting an infected animal, then passing the infection on to other animals they bite.  As with dogs, mosquitoes transmit the heartworm larvae into the bloodstream when they bite our cats and kittens . .
Yes, mosquitoes are inside pests, too!
Prevention is the key!
